Here at ChristmasPartiesUK, we are seeing a strong demand for the 2010 Xmas party season with bookings up 10% on the same time last year.
"Buyers are still, quite rightly, being cautious about budgets and cutting out excessive extravagance," observes Marketing Director, Sam Gill. "However, there seems to be an increasing confidence in the marketplace, when compared to last year, when service sector redundancies created understandable certainty in the Christmas Party market".
There remain very solid and underlying reasons for keeping the December party tradition. Charles Cotton, an independent expert from the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development's expert on staff rewards, says "Employers should be wary about scrapping them in response to the economic downturn because the long-term impact could be damaging on employee engagement and organisational performance. The Christmas party is one way of reminding staff that they are part of a common endeavour."
